Leslie Weeks

Leslie Weeks, 71, of Decatur passed away Monday, August 24, 2020 at Huntsville Hospital. Visitation will be from 2:30 PM till 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at the funeral home with Anthony Simmons and Gerald Sherrill officiating. Burial will be in Smyrna Cemetery.

Leslie’s grandchildren were his life, he enjoyed watching them play sports and was their number one fan. He was everyones Poppie. He served his country in the Army and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Decatur. Leslie retired from General Motors in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years: Sharon Roberson Weeks, two daughters; Alicia Tanner (Eric) and Kristina Weeks, nine grandchildren, six brothers; Roy Lee Weeks (Betty Ross), Harvey Weeks (Brenda), Wayne Weeks, Howard Weeks (Molly), Glenn Weeks and Roger Weeks (Lori), and five sisters; Jeanette Blazer, Judy Wells, Carolyn Hall, Wanda Weeks (Randy) and Sandra Siegal (Bill).

He was preceded in death by his parents; J.O. and Annie Ruth Weeks and two brothers; Jimbo and Delta Weeks.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

The family extends special thanks to family, friends and his Doctors and Nurses at Huntsville Hospital.
