Alan “Tokyo” Patterson, 63, of Moulton passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022 at his home. Visitation will be from 6 till 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The graveside service with military honors will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 24 at Old Bethel Cemetery with Redmond Talley officiating.
Born on May 5, 1958 to John and Barbara Daily Patterson, Alan was a veteran of the US Army. He retired from International Paper in Decatur in November 2021 and currently worked as a bus driver for Lawrence County Schools. Alan spent many years as a Dixie Youth Umpire and was an avid Alabama football fan, having attended many games through the years. He loved spending time with his family and friends, going to gospel singings, and attended Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his children, Scott Patterson (Nicole) and Misty Slaton; grandchildren, Autumn, Haleigh, Kyleigh, John Curtis, and Whitley; mother, Barbara Daily Patterson; brother, John Patterson, Jr., and Kerry Patterson; very special friend, Teresa Harris; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Alan was preceded in death by his father, John Patterson.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Smith, Dave Fischer, Chris James, Randy Taylor, John Curtis Patterson, and Bruno Black. Honorary pallbearer is Jack Harris.
