Wonnie Martin

Annie Wonease "Wonnie" Martin, 83, of Mount Hope passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at NHC of Moulton. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Wix officiating. Burial will be at Rock Springs Cemetery in Mount Hope, AL.

Born on March 27, 1940 to the late Thomas and Jimmie Norton Dutton, Annie attended Hatton High School and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She loved to sing and write poetry and songs.

Survivors include her sons, Steve (Malissa) Martin, and Kevin Martin; daughter-in-law, Sindy Martin; grandchildren, Misty Martin, Mandy (Timmy) Blankenship, Caitlin (Timothy) Jones, and Braden (Gracie Hill) Martin; great-grandchildren, Jase Blankenship, and Madilyn Blankenship; sister-in-law, Sharlene Dutton; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Wonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Martin; son, Brex Martin; parents; brother, Howard Lee Dutton.

Pallbearers will be Braden Martin, Timothy Jones, Timmy Blankenship, Jase Blankenship, Greg Posey, Anthony Posey, Glenn Posey, and Jamie Dutton.

The family extends special thanks to Amedisys Hospice and the nurses and staff at NHC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rock Springs Cemetery Fund.
