Avon Terry

Vergie Avon Bracken Terry, 91, of Town Creek passed away Friday, November 5, 2021 at her home. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. till 12 noon on Tuesday, November 9 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12 noon at the funeral home with Phil Waldrep and Dan Compton officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery.

Born on August 9, 1930 to the late Willie and Essie Waldrep Bracken, Mrs. Terry was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Town Creek.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda N. Terry of Town Creek and Wanda J. Terry McCreless (Blair) of Moulton; grandchildren, Jeanna Brown (Neal) of Town Creek and Kemmy Baker (Jada) of Moulton; great-grandchildren, Rhett Brown (Cassidy), Scarlett Brown Ray (Dalton), Kaden Warren, and Eli Warren all of Moulton; great-great-grandson, Easton Thomas Brown of Moulton; sisters, Ruth Dawson of Town Creek and Eurldean Bracken of Huntsville; and several nieces, and nephews.

Mrs. Terry was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earnest Terry, Jr.; brother, Robert Bracken; and sisters, Ludie Copeland and Ruby Etheridge.

Pallbearers will be Neal Brown, Rhett Brown, Kaden Warren, Eli Warren, George Byars, Buster Bracken, Dwight Terry and Dustin White.

The family extends special thanks to Amedisys Hospice of Florence, Dr. Melissa Gray, Nurse Heidi McKinney, Chaplain Jacob Livingston, and Social Worker, Jo Ann Clark.
