Billy Ray Terry, 88, of Town Creek, Alabama passed away Monday, March 11, 2024, at his residence. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Terry Settles and Ben Hayes officiating. Burial will be at Providence Cemetery.
Born on May 28, 1935, to Hardy and Bertha Terry, Billy Ray was a former member of Sanderson Chapel Methodist Church and Current member of Highland Park Church of Christ. He retired from the Ford Motor Company and the State Highway Department.
In high school, Billy Ray enjoyed playing basketball and baseball. He coached little league baseball and supported all of his grandchildren in sports.
Billy Ray enjoyed so many things in his life especially spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, and planting his watermelons that he shared with everyone. Billy Ray enjoyed catching up with old friends in the nursing home and the UAW retirees meetings. Billy Ray was an avid Auburn Fan. Everyone knew he was a christian by the life he lived. He was the most loving husband, daddy, paw paw, and friend.
Survivors include his wife Linda Terry; daughter, Vanessa Hallmark (Tony); step-children, Lorie Mansell (Tyrus) and Jeff Henry (Michelle); grandchildren, Hannah Pace (Logan), Trey Hallmark, Jamie Priest (James), Lindsey Kennedy (Chuck), Jerrod Henry (Megan), Caleb Henry (Ashton), Evan Mansell (Leslie), and Faith Kelley (Connor); great-grandchildren, Madelyn Pace, Brayson Harville, Charley Kennedy, Mia Kennedy, Maeley Henry, Maecey Henry, Madi Henry, Clark Henry, Bo Henry, Paxton Mansell, and Deacon Mansell; one sister, Shelby Parker; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents Hardy and Bertha Terry; wife of 50 years, Mona Faye Terry; son, Bengie Terry; and brother, H.B. Terry.
Pallbearers will be Trey Hallmark, Jerrod Henry, Caleb Henry, Evan Mansell, Logan Pace, and Connor Kelley.
