Burlin Rutherford

Burlin Lynn Rutherford, 76, of Danville, Alabama passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Decatur Health and Rehab Center Decatur, AL. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Kirby officiating. Burial will be at Midway Memorial Garden.

Born on January 15, 1947, to Clyde and Annie Ayers Rutherford, Burl enjoyed working on his hot-rods, riding horses, and collecting guns and knives. Burl worked for Decatur Nursery for several decades. Burl loved his family and especially his chihuahuas Trixie, Baby Girl, Angel, Peanut, and T-Bone.

Survivors include his son, Lavearl (Karen) Rutherford; four grandchildren, Tyler Rutherford, Brittany Luke, Kaden Rutherford, and Emalee Hammon; one sister, Joyce Engle; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Burlin was preceded in death by his spouse, Brenda Rutherford; parents, Clyde and Annie Rutherford; 8 brothers, Randal Rutherford, Ronnie Rutherford, Waymon Rutherford, Stevie Rutherford, Edward Lavearl Rutherford, Ray Rutherford, Bobby Gene Rutherford, Larry Rutherford; two sisters, Carolyn Sams and Jeanette Blasingame.

Pallbearers will be Lavearl Rutherford, Tyler Rutherford, Dustin Osborn, Allen Osborn, Carson Dishon, Shane Smith.
