Crystal Sanderson

Crystal Sanderson, 43, of Athens passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Huntsville Hospital. Visitation will be from 5 till 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5 at the funeral home with Bro. Jason Greene officiating. Burial will be in Old Liberty Cemetery.

Born on July 18, 1978 to Billy Sanderson and Joyce Bradford, Crystal worked as a caregiver for several years. She loved music, art, and Alabama football.

Survivors include her son, Christian Sanderson; mother, Joyce Bradford; father, Billy Sanderson (Betty); sisters, Meleia Sanderson Burkett (Shane), Donna Mathis (Wayne); nieces, Amber and Raley; and nephew, Richard; and several aunts, uncles and other family.

Crystal was preceded in death by her grandparents, Loys and Etta Mae Bradford and Paul Sanderson and Ann Lee Pettijohn.

Pallbearers will be Todd Bradford, Brian Thrasher, Chad Bradford, Nick Bradford, Mark Bradford, and Jonathan Bradford.

The family extends special thanks to Crystal’s nurses in the CVICU and Dr. Holden at Huntsville Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.
