Dale F. Johnson, 69, of Wolf Springs passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019 at his home. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Donald Baptist Church with Bro. Hugh Bohlin and Bro. Scott Delashaw officiating. Burial will be in Roden Cemetery.
Dale graduated in 1967 from Hatton High School where he lettered in basketball and football and was Mr. HHS his senior year. After becoming an Eagle Scout under his father, Scout Master Lonnie Johnson, Dale went on to earn his degree in drafting. He retired from Monsanto/Solutia with 35 years of service.
A Master Mason of Lodge 879 in Hatton, Dale was an accomplished wood worker and enjoyed golf and Alabama football. He was a member of Donald Baptist Church where he sang in the choir.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Berryman Johnson; children, Sedrick (Jill) Johnson of Florence, Brandon (Jolene) Fretwell of Hatton, Deetra Walker of Wolf Springs, and Becky Fretwell of Azusa, California; grandchildren, Jeremiah, Margo, Eli, Jesse, Jordan, John, Joseph, Braxton, Bryce, Jillian, Eric (Anna), Brendan and Ceili; sisters, Wanda Lee (Harold) Whitley and Doris (Garland) Jones; nephews, Deral (Pattie) Posey and Jarrod (Pamela) Jones; niece, Marsha (Keith) Terry; and great nieces and nephews, Lauren, Kaitlin (Will), Toby and Josie Rae.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Inez Johnson
Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Johnson, Deral Posey, Jarrod Jones, Jesse Naylor, Braxton Fretwell and Bryce Fretwell. Honorary pallbearers are the Men’s Sunday School Class of Donald Baptist Church.
