Dianne Norwood

Dianne Norwood, 79, of Moulton, Alabama passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Lawrence Medical Center. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Moulton First United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Moulton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Wannell Scott officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Born on December 3, 1944, to Walter and Elizabeth Waters Merrell Sr., Dianne was a member of Moulton First United Methodist Church. She graduated from Huntingdon College, and retired from the Lawrence County Board of Education. Dianne enjoyed playing mahjong, tending to her flower garden, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her two sons, Jason (Nicole) Norwood and Robert (Karen) Norwood; three grandchildren, Caden Norwood, Lara Anne Norwood, and Caroline Norwood; two nieces, Lindy Wolverton and Sandy Norwood; four nephews, Walt Merrell, Robin Rhyne, Partick Rhyne, and David Norwood.

Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Sr. and Elizabeth Merrell; and one brother, Walter Merrell Jr..

Pallbearers will be Caden Norwood, Walt Merrell, Robin Rhyne, Patrick Rhyne, David Norwood, and John Montgomery.

The family extends special thanks to Dr. Sullivan, Dr. Tuckier, and the nurses and staff at Lawrence Medical Center.
