Dotsie "Dot" Whisenant

Dotsie "Dot" Dean Whisenant, 89, of Trinity, Alabama passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at her son's house surrounded by her loved ones. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The graveside service will be at 2:30 PM on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Mountain Springs Cemetery in Moulton with Billy Wayne White officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Born on May 8, 1934, to Jessie and Carrie Rose Hale, Dot enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Larry Whisenant (Cathy) and Linda Sticklin; seven grandchildren, Nick Sroufek, Amanda Carter (E.J.), Cody Whisenant, Bradley Stricklin, Chase Whisenant, Stephani Knott (Herbert), and Casey Stricklin; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Whisenant; parents, Jessie and Carrie Rose Hale; four brothers, Harold Hale, Lyndon Hale, Billy Gwinn Hale, and Billy Avery Hale; five sisters, Laconia "Shorty" Grimes, Suddie Terry, Margie Lindsey, Ruth "Billie" Terry, and Maudie Harville.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family extends special thanks to the nurses and staff at Aveanna Hospice.
