Edward Weatherford

Edward 'Ed" K Weatherford, 72, of Moulton, Alabama passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 1:30 PM on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Eric Brown officiating.

Born on August 18, 1950, to John and Bettye Matthews Weatherford Jr., Ed was a member of the Bankhead amateur radio club. Ed was involved in Law Enforcement for many years in Lawrence County, and ultimately became the police chief of Moulton. Ed retired from U.S. Army Reserves. Ed was also a member of Moulton First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Anita Weatherford; step-daughter, Britney Bailey; one brother, Bob Weatherford; sister-in-law, Frances Weatherford Brown; brother-in-law, Barry Adams (Debbie); four nephews, Lucas Weatherford (Mylesa), Chase Weatherford (Stephanie), Matt Weatherford, and Justin Weatherford; one niece, Heather Shirley (Alan).

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bettye Matthews Weatherford, and his twin brother, Bill Weatherford.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
