Elsie Allen

Elsie Mae Coan Allen, 84 years old of Decatur passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 at her daughter’s residence. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM till 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Lawrence Funeral Home with Justin Coan officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Methodist Cemetery.

Mrs. Allen was retired from Moulton Walmart as the Jewelry Department Manager and was a member of Old Town Creek Baptist Church. She was a life long resident of her beloved community, Mt. Hope.

Survivors include her husband: Raymond Allen, one son: Dale Allen(Susan), two daughters: Patsy Kerby(Jimmy) and Kimberly Proctor(Dwight), four grandsons: Jesse Allen(Jessica), Ryan Proctor(Sarah), Blake Allen(Jennifer) and Ben Allen, five granddaughters: Sandra Kerby, Cindy Pierce(Cody), Baley Glaze(Drew), Brandy Scruggs and Blythe Willis, and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son: Ronald Allen, her parents: Newton and Luella Richards Coan, two brothers: Elbert and Alton Coan and one sister: Gerthie Porter.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Allen, Ryan Proctor, Blake Allen, Ben Allen, Drew Glaze, Cody Pierce.

The family extends special thanks to Alacare Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Hope Senior Center
