Ussery “Firecracker” Etheredge
Ussery “Firecracker” Etheredge, 83, of Hatton passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Visitation will be from 10 till 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 15 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11 am at the funeral home with Keith Prince officiating. Burial will be in Fergason Cemetery.
Born on July 3, 1938 to the late Grant and Ethel Jefferys Etheredge, Firecracker enjoyed working his mules and spending time with the Amish in Tennessee. He never met a stranger and will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his children, Mike Etheredge (Angie), Patricia Holland (Tim), Melony Parker (Lynn); grandchildren, Matt Holland, Mark Etheredge (April), Sonya Parker; two great-granddaughters, Kahri and Zoei Etheredge; brother, Ferlin Etheredge (Janet); several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Firecracker was preceded in death by his wife, Kelly Etheredge; parents; brothers, Willard and Lyndon Etheredge.
Pallbearers will be Gary Northington, Jeff Landers, Wayne Kerby, Matt Holland, Lynn Parker, and Steve Hampton.
The family extends special thanks to his neighbor Jill Burks, and his nurses and the staff at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
