Fred Alton "Honey" Richardson, 79, of Moulton, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, September 06, 2024 at Lawrence Funeral Home and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Corinth Missionary Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM on Saturday, at the church with Larry Dyar, Tim Box, and Hollis Rutherford officiating. Burial will be at Corinth Missionary Baptist Cemetery.
Born on July 20, 1945 to the late Claude and Para Lee Jones Richardson, Honey graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1963 and was a devoted and faithful member of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church. He was the recipient of the Alabama Master Dairyman Award from 1999 - 2003. Honey loved to show racking horses, fish, hunt, and spend time with his family. He also spent many days on the bench at Mayes Grocery/Langtown Quick Stop catching up on the daily gossip with his life-long friends.
Survivors include his daughters, Denise Ray (Joe Collier), Brenda Ratliff, and Belinda Fike (Danny); grandchildren, Dusty Richardson (Maddie), Tiffany Proctor (Shonn), Heather Moody, Shaun Richardson (Haley), and Austin Richardson; great-grandchildren, Presley Richardson, Remi Richardson, Russ Proctor, Andie Grace Richardson, Parker Richardson, and Wyatt Proctor; sister, Linda Sue (Tony) Woodruff; sister-in-law, Nancy Corum; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Richardson; son, Roger Richardson; grandson, Casey Richardson; parents; sons-in-law, David Ray, and Donnie Ratliff; daughter-in-law, Annette Richardson.
Pallbearers will be Dusty Richardson, Shonn Proctor, Shaun Richardson, Austin Richardson, Jonathan Corum, Kody Petruna, Bobby Petruna. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Collier, Danny Fike, Remi Richardson, Russ Proctor, Parker Richardson, Wyatt Proctor, Danny Morris, Bub Richardson, and Roger Jones.
The family extends special thanks to Dr. Robert Hall and his staff, Hospice of the Valley and Langtown Moultrie Pharmacy staffs.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
