George Kennemer Jr.

George James Kennemer Jr, 92 years old of Anderson,went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at ECM Hospital

Visitation will be Friday, January 26, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Union Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the funeral following at 1:00 PM with Chuck Hood officiating..

Lawrence Funeral Home, Moulton Alabama is assisting the family.  Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Anderson, Alabama.

Mr. Kennemer was retired from NASA and was a member and an Elder of Union Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Anderson, Alabama.  He served in the US Army in the European Theatre in World War II.

Mr. Kennemer was preceded in death by his  wives: Imo Gene Pratt Kennemer and Marie Bradford Herston Kennemer, his parents: George James Kennemer Sr. and Anna Belle Parker Kennemer, three brothers: Thomas Kennemer, Otis Kennemer and Alvin Kennemer and one sister:  Janine Jaynes.

He is survived by  two sons: Gary (Gail) Kennemer, Rogersville and Barry (Karen) Kennemer, Anderson, one sister:  Jo Lemay of Anderson, two grandsons: Brian (Shannon) Kennemer, Chapel Hill, TN and Darren (Julie) Kennemer of Pelham, Alabama, two granddaughters: Kristin Kennemer of Athens and Haley (Brian) Kennemer Curry of Lester, Alabama, three great grandsons: Jacob Kennemer, Aidan Kennemer and Kius Smith, two great granddaughters: Ella Claire Kennemer and Neava Smith and several nieces and nephews.
