Glenda Gail Vanderford, 65, of Moulton, Alabama passed away Friday, October 28, 2022, at her residence with her family, loved ones, and her babies. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Tuesday, November 01, 2022, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow at Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Shane Williams officiating. Burial will be at Jones Chapel Cemetery in Moulton, AL.
Born on July 27, 1957 to James and Lois Hutson Brooks, Glenda enjoyed sewing, cooking, being with her grand babies, and gardening. She was a CNA at NHC and for Hospice of the Valley. She enjoyed having her family over and cooking them meals. She loved taking care of her pets that were her like her babies.
Survivors include her husband, Dwight Vanderford; son, Mark Strickland; grandchildren, Dylan Strickland (Virginia), Blake Strickland, and Brayden Garrison; great-grandchildren, Dawson Strickland, and Ava Strickland; one sister, Jean Dutton (Mitchell); one brother, Bobby Brooks (Sue); her babies, Precious and Koda J.; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lois Brooks; brother, Edward Brooks; two sisters, Shelia Brooks and Patricia Appleton.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Strickland, Blake Strickland, Tyler Hutchinson, John Dotson, Chris Hood, Keith Appleton.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Brayden Garrison.
The family extends special thanks to the staff of Decatur Morgan Hospital, Hospice of the Valley, Steve's Drugs, the staff of Clearview Cancer Center; caregivers, Virginia Strickland, Theresa Heflin, and Leslie Yarbrough.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation or The Moulton Fire and Rescue.
