Icy Mae Meherg, 86, of Moulton passed away Friday, August 4, 2023 at Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, August 05, 2023 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The graveside service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Pine Torch Cemetery with Charles Williams officiating.
Born on August 25, 1936 to the late Austin and Lena Asherbranner Kelso, Icy Mae was an avid Braves fan and member of Lindsey Hall Holy Church of Christ. She loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Karen (Danny) Jones, Thomas (Kathy) Meherg, and Tim (Michelle) Meherg; grandchildren, David (Amy) Meherg, Colton Meherg, Cheyenne (Jonah) Armstrong, Jessy Meherg, Ashley Smith, Lindsey (Jason) Eady, Jennifer (Chris) Bell, Laura (Adam) Carter, Hillary (Jacob) Bates, and Heather Moore; great-grandchildren, Danica Meherg, Eddley Meherg, James Meherg, Scarlett Meherg, Jack Armstrong, Cian Jones, Emma Thompson, Denver Moore, Noah Bell, Nadia Bell, Maddie-Erin Elkins, Abel Jones, Kallie Bates, Brooklyn Bates, Jeremiah Smith, and Jace Eady; daughter-in-law: Lisa Kelsoe; sister, Martha Garrison; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Icy Mae is preceded in death by her husband, Colbert Meherg; parents; son, Steve Kelsoe; brother, Clifton Kelso; sisters, Mary Miller and Cleo Sandlin.
Pallbearers will be Jonah Armstrong, Joey Meherg, Dalton Meherg, Docky Borden, Charles Hamby, and A J Mullican.
The family extends special thanks to the nurses and staff at Burns Nursing Home and Helen Keller Hospital for their wonderful care.
