Iler Fay Weaver Heaps, 92, of Moulton passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 at NHC of Moulton. Visitation will be from 1 till 3 p.m. on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with her granddaughter, Pam Kitchens Crumpton officiating. Private burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery.
A lifelong member of Lebanon Methodist Church in Speake, Mrs. Heaps was born on June 6, 1925 to the late John Byrd and Lila Belle Folsom Weaver. While she served in the Ministry for many years, her hobbies included sewing, reading, working in her flowers, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda Evans Hale (Doug) of Huntsville, Laura Hamner Heaps (Jim) of Killen; grandchildren, Pam Kitchens Crumpton (Joel) of Moulton, Misty Heaps McGee (Corey) of Lexington, Jared Heaps (Veronica) of Dallas, TX, Jessica Mays and Kelsey Heaps Thigpen (Justin) of Elgin; and great-grandchildren, Victoria Jackson, Autumn McGee, Izac McGee, Allena Heaps and Kristov Heaps, Ashley Crumpton Peppers, Joshua Crumpton; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Heaps was preceded in death by seven sisters, Francis Weaver Johnson, Trudie Weaver Kelsoe, Gracie Weaver, Birdie Weaver Parker, Evie Jane Weaver Vinson, Icle Weaver Gist (her twin sister), and Audrie Weaver Heaps; three brothers, Curtis Weaver, David Weaver, and J.A. Weaver; two children, Lila Faye Heaps Kitchens, James Robert Heaps, Jr.; an unnamed infant; and son-in-law, Cecil Edwin Kitchens.
Special thanks are given to Hospice of North Alabama, NHC of Moulton, Inez Alexander, Joyce Berryman, and Wilma McLemore. Mrs. Iler gave her heart to Jesus as a child, and she lived and breathed a Christian life.
In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to the Lebanon Methodist Church in Speake.
