James Rucker

James Elton “J.E.” Rucker, 81, of Town Creek passed away Friday, October 8, 2021 at his residence. A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12 at Providence Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home assisting the family.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Lawanda Pool Rucker; parents, James and Elsie Rucker; brother, Billy Rucker; and sister, Nadine Scott all of Moulton.

He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Tawanda Rucker, who has faithfully cared for him during his illness for several years. He is also survived by two brothers, Bobby Rucker of Louisiana and Jerrel Rucker of Illinois; sister, Carolyn Horvath of Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Rucker was employed by Reynolds, then he worked for Wise until his retirement. He was an avid Alabama football fan following it faithfully. He also loved music and played his guitar when he could.

The family gives special thanks to Compassus Hospice, all of his nurses, doctors and rehab assistants for their care and to his special friends who helped in his care and stood by his side.
