Jerome “Jerry” Douglas, 61, of Moulton entered his heavenly home on March 22, 2018 at 2:40 a.m. at Huntsville Hospital. Visitation will be from 12 till 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Wayne Turner officiating. Burial will be in Jones Chapel Cemetery.
Born in Haleyville, Alabama on December 29, 1956, Jerry was an avid hunter and fisherman. Affectionately known as “Bear”, he loved to work and he loved his kids and grandkids. Jerry worked as a maintenance associate at Wal-Mart.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mary LaShawn Jones Douglas; daughters, Crystal, Latasha, LaKeisha; and son, Michael; grandchildren, Lindsey, Courtney, Christina, Skyluar, and Andrew; brothers, Jackie Douglas, David Douglas and George Douglas; sisters, Evelyn Peoples, Susie Peoples, and Viola Fortenberry, brother-in-law, Dexter Jones (Debra).
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Austin Freeman and Frances Watson Douglas; brother, Gene Douglas, and sisters, Barbara Vincent and Louise Downs.
Pallbearers will be Tony Scott, Bobby Scott, Chris Douglas, Stacy Douglas, Bradley Douglas, and Jody Jones.
