Jimmy Lee Walker, 86, of Guntersville, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. His graveside service will be at 3:00 PM on Monday, February 10, 2025 at Aldridge Grove Cemetery with Gary Lovette and Clark Underbakke officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Born on December 6, 1938 to the late Howard and Rosie Belle Bates Walker, Jimmy will always be remembered for his great love for his family. He started his printing career working at the Moulton Advertiser and ended it with John Harland Check Printers in Phoenix, Arizona. Jimmy loved his faithful fur baby, Ellie, riding his Harley and dirt bikes, especially along the Arizona trails/mountains. Jimmy also enjoyed helping Juanita with her pottery as her chemist mixing the glazes, rakuing, and loading/unloading the kilns.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Juanita Alexander Walker; sons, Jimmy Keith "Jake" (Robin) Walker, David (Clark Underbakke) Walker; grandchildren, Jacqueline "Nikki" Walker, Jacob (Katelynn Faulkner) Walker; great-granddaughter, Kiera Allen; sister, Mary Jane Walker Brown; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his daughter, Lanita Kay Walker; parents; brothers, John W. Walker, Sr., Charles E. Walker, Thomas J. Walker, and Howard Walker, Jr..
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Keith "Jake" Walker, David Walker, Jacob Walker, Johnny Walker, Clark Underbakke, and Billy Byram.
The family extends special thanks to Dr. Alex Nixon, Kathy, and the many wonderful nurses and caregivers for the tremendous care given to Jimmy during his long illness.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite no-kill animal shelter.
