Johnny Letson

Johnny Lee Letson, 76, of Moulton, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 24, 2025 at Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Rogers officiating. Burial will be at Moulton Memory Gardens.

Born in Moulton on January 7, 1949 to the late Omar Letson and Ida Terry Heflin, Johnny served with the US Army during Vietnam. He earned his accounting degree from Athens State and spent many years as a Tax Accountant in Moulton. Johnny attending the United Terry's Club Reunion for many years until his health prevented it; but most important to him was spending time with his family.

Survivors include his children, Donny (Michelle) Letson, Jonny Letson, Chastity Nicole Letson, Waylon (Hannah) Letson, Heather (Chris) Letson, Randel (Kandi) Letson, Kyle (Reagan) Letson, and Kenley (Kaitlyn) Letson; grandchildren, Michael (Mia) Letson, Kaitlyn Letson, Erik (Meaghan) Letson, Decie (David) Kummetz, Austin (Jacey) Glynn, Derek (McKenzie) Glynn, Katie Letson, Claire Letson, Justice Letson, Adyson Letson, Haileigh Jetton, Carrissa (Braxton) Westbrook, Laura Grantland, Savannah Letson, Riley Letson, Katherine Letson, Skylar Letson, and Cameron "Eli" Letson; great-grandson, Maddox Glynn; brother, Gwen Letson; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Otis "Benny" Letson, and Carthel Ray Yates; and sister, Ruby Faye Heflin.

Pallbearers will be Donny Letson, Jonny Letson, Waylon Letson, Randel Letson, Kyle Letson, Kenley Letson, Michael Letson, and Erik Letson.

The family extends special thanks to his nurses and doctors at UAB MCCU for their wonderful and loving care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
