Joseph L. Pace, 95 years old of Leighton, passed from this life, Thursday, October 19, 2017 at his residence.
A graveside service will be Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 4:00 PM at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 6350 Coburn Mountain Road, Tuscumbia, Alabama 35674 with Brother Bobby Rich and Brother Dennis Stewart officiating and the burial following in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Mr. Pace was born and raised in Colbert County. He served in the army and his country that he loved in WWII. He was an excellent carpenter and he loved his family. Joe loved reading his Bible and Woodworking. He was a member of Old Bethel Church and attended Midway Freewill Baptist Church.. He was a member of D.A.V. Chapter 63.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife: Annie Racine Lenz Pace, his parents: Vince and Minnie Parker Pace, five brothers: Benjamin Pace, Howard Pace, Clyde Pace, Davie Pace and Calvin Pace and five sisters: Viola Poston, Lula Poston, Lizzie McGregor, Earlene Pace and Volaria Pace.
He is survived by two daughters: Carol Pace and Ruth Morris and her husband, Noel, three grandsons: Elvin Hatton (Kay), Gene Morris (Tammy) and Patrick Morris (Cassandra), one granddaughter: Roxanne Thomason (Ricky), fifteen great grandchildren: Andy Hines, Sarha Barton, Megan Barber, Taylor Thomason, Emily Thomason, Marissa Morris, Mallory Morris, Bailey Morris, Autumn Barton, Oliver Barton, Gwenivere Barber, Harlee Craig, Jordan Craig, Jacob Craig and Hunter Craig, and Midway Church, the LaGrange Community.
Pallbearers are: Dale Mayfield, Kevin Mitchell, Jeffrey Lindsey, Kevin Bartan, Taylor Thomason and John Timmons, Honorary Pallbearers are Bailey Morris and Andy Hines.
The family would like to say a special Thanks to Keller Hospice, Melinda Smith, Grace Gann, Richard Parker,Chaplin and Wyatt Jackson, Social Worker.
