Larry Roberts

Larry Joe Roberts, 70, of Town Creek, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024 at his home. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, December 16, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the church with Bro Dan Compton and Bro. John Davis officiating. Burial will be at Providence Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Born on May 20, 1954 to the late George and Hazel Scoggins Roberts, Larry was a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church, served on the board of the Hatton Fire Department, and was an avid Alabama fan. ROLL TIDE! He took great pride in working at Decatur Utilities for 44 years, and often shared his work experiences with anyone willing to listen.

Survivors include his wife of 47 and 1/2 years, Sherry Roberts; children, Kellye Roberts, Lee (Brianne) Roberts, and Dillon Roberts; granddaughter, Arlee Roberts; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Remona Faye Smith; and brother, Johnny Roberts.

Pallbearers will be Adam Thaxton, Caden Roberts, Rickey Johnson, Tracy Boteler, Arnold Shell, and Jeremy Hardin.

The family extends special thanks to his nurses, Megan Terry, Carolyn Pankey, Paige Pylant, and Carla Inmon with Aveanna Hospice.
