Lorraine Coan

Due to the weather situation Mrs. Coan's services have been postponed until Saturday, February 20, 2021.

Lorraine Coan, 79, of Mount Hope passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021 at her home. Visitation will now be from 10 till 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Justin Coan officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery.

Born on January 1, 1942 to the late Burt and Oma Blankenship Blair, Lorraine loved spending time with her family, especially her grand babies. She worked as a department manager at Walmart for 25 years and enjoyed the sound of a baby’s laughter.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, John Russell Coan; daughters, Alicia Coan Smith and Sharon Coan Wolfe; grandsons, Casey Smith (Kimberly) and Clay Smith; great grandchildren, Braxton Smith, Addisyn Smith and Jessi Smith; and brother, Bobby Blair (Kathy).

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Bert Blair, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Casey Smith, Clay Smith, Clarence Coan, Dewayne Coan, David Hood, and Braxton Smith.

The family extends special thanks to Southern Care New Beacon Hospice, Dr. Brian Richards, her nurse practicioner, Matt King and all of her family and friends who provided food and other support to the family.
