Mario Medina Saldana

Mario Medina Saldana, 77, of Moulton, Alabama passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cementeterio El Guajolote in Mexico at a later date.

Born on January 19, 1946, to Anselmo and Hortencia Medina Camarillo, Mario enjoyed working on his ranch, watching MLB and NFL games, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his four children, Angel Medina Garcia (Sylvia), Nancy Medina Garcia, Lorena Medina Garcia, Juan Manuel Medina Garcia; ten grandchildren, Chris Schegel, Nikayla Medina, AdriAna Medina, Amiyah Medina, Nancy Nevarez-Medina, Brenda E. Nevarez-Medina, Erick E. Cepeda Medina, David Medina Sanchez, Vanesa Medina Olvera, and Brisia Medina Olvera; five great-grandchildren, Efrain Nevarez Garcia, Zadie Medina, Leandro J. Garrison, Kataleya R. Medina-Drake, and Traycen Christopher Schegel; one sister, Alma Medina Saldana; one brother, Lucio Medina Saldana (Gloria); and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Mario was preceded in death by his parents, Anselmo Medina Camarillo and Hortencia Saldana Puente; wife, Rebeca Garcia Garcia; grandson, Guadalupe Efrain Nevarez-Medina; daughter, Norma Medina; granddaughter, Adriana Nevarez-Medina.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family extends special thanks to the nurses and staff in the ICU at Decatur Morgan Hospital and the nurses and staff at NHC of Moulton.
