Matthew Lamar Culver, 59, of Town Creek, Alabama passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Huntsville Hospital. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Steve Hood officiating. Burial will be at Moulton Memory Gardens.
Born on October 9, 1964, to Shelby Culver, Matthew was a member of of Fairhaven Church of Christ. Matthew was employed by 3m in Decatur. Matthew loved his family especially Loretta, his girls, and grandson. He also enjoyed cattle farming, and playing with his grandson, and watching him play ball. Matthew loved driving to Tennessee to eat at restaurants and drive through Natchez Trace. He was a good friend to those who knew him.
Survivors include his spouse of 40 years, Loretta Culver; two daughters, Savannah (Prentis) Davis and Samantha Culver; grandson, Denny Davis; one sister, Donna (Porter) Dutton; a very special family member, Amy (Randy) Cherry; mother and father-in-law; Faye and Burrell Bradford; three sister-in-laws, LaDonna (Jimmy) Cook, Natasha (Chris) Kerby, and Anita Bradford; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Matthew was preceded in death by his mother, Shelby Culver Hamby; sister-in-law, Terri Bradford; grandmother, Minnie Sue Culver; and great-grandmother, Etta Hagood.
Pallbearers will be Prentis Davis, Porter Dutton, Jimmy Cook, Chris Kerby, Cade Kerby, Carson Kerby, Joshua Dutton, and Justin Dutton.
Honorary Pallbearer is Denny Davis.
The family extends special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Huntsville Hospital and Decatur Morgan Hospital.
