Melba Kerby

Melba Jean Kerby, 74, of Town Creek, Alabama passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, AL. Visitation will be from  1:00 PM to  2:00 PM on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at  2:00 PM on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Hollis Retherford officiating. Burial will be at Blackground Cemetery in Town Creek, AL.

Born on February 22, 1948 to William and Myrtle Beavers Farley, Melba enjoyed working in her flower garden along with her vegetable garden. She was life-long member of Bethany Baptist Church. Melba's grand babies were the center of her world.

Survivors include her son, Jason Kerby (Pamela) of Town Creek; grandchild, Kasi Lea Johnson (Cody) of Mt. Hope; two step-granchildren, Monica Kerby (Greg) of Town Creek, and Eric Barrett of Birmingham; two great-grandchildren, Zaylee Johnson, and Jaxton Johnson; two step-great-grandchildren, Zack Kerby, and Zoey Kerby; two sisters, Virginia Lovelady, and Thelma Cagle; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Melba was preceded in death by her spouse, Oneal Kerby; parents, William Farley and  Myrtle Beavers Farley; son, Brian Kerby; two brothers, William Jr. Farley, and Hershel Farley.

Pallbearers will be Chris Kerby, Greg Kerby, Keith Kerby, Stacy Thrasher, Chad Lovelady, and Austin Thrasher.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Jaxton Brian Johnson.
