Melvin Wylie, 89, of Moulton passed away Friday, July 30, 2021 at Mitchell Hollingsworth Nursing and Rehab. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. till 12 noon on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12 noon at the funeral home with Steve Agee officiating. Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens.
Born on October 21, 1931 to the late Elbert and Christine Wylie, Melvin served in the US Air Force. Known for his great story telling and jokes, he loved camping, fishing and working with his horses and cows.
Survivors include his daughters, Patricia Lott (Stanley) and Janice Hawkins; son, Jerry Wylie; grandchildren, Aaron Perry, Patrick Crabtree, Wyatt Wylie, Sandy Fleener, Mandy Martin, Elizabeth Walker, William Wimberly, and Kay Martin; several great grandchildren; sisters, Joan Hodge and Frances Parker; his Best Bud, Anthony Dutton (Jennifer) and special daughter, Bonnie Wimberly.
Pallbearers will be William Wimberly, George Brackin, Billy Clark, Josh Crumpton, and Anthony Dutton.
The family extends special thanks to his nurses and the staff at Mitchell Hollingsworth.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
