Reginald Hagood

Reginald Willard Hagood of Hatton went to his eternal home in heaven on Tuesday, April 16, 2019. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 pm on Friday, April 19, 2019 at Lawrence Funeral Home in Moulton. The funeral service will follow at 3 pm in the chapel with Bro. Roger Houston officiating. A private burial will be at Cherry Hill Baptist Church in Russellville.

Mr. Hagood was born in Russellville on July 3, 1951. He graduated from Hatton High School in 1969. He was a member of New Zion Baptist Church in the Flat Rock community where in the past he had served as Sunday School Director, Training Union Director, and led the worship service singing on occasion.

He married Joyce Potter on August 23, 1974. Together they lived in the C.C. Smith community while raising their three daughters. He was an avid fan of the Hatton Hornets, Alabama Crimson Tide, and New York Yankees.

His proudest moments were cheering on his daughters, and later on his grandchildren. He was often seen in the gym or on the ball field with camera in hand to record many memories.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Margie Hagood and his grandparents John and Margaret Harris and Hobart and Mabel Hagood.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Joyce Potter Hagood; daughters, Andrea Brewer (Greg), Alison Terry (Josh), and Ashley Pitts (Mark); sister, Rheta Harrison (Wade); 8 grandchildren, Ivey-Blake Terry, Carson Brewer, Briar Terry, Hayden Addison, Jackson Brewer, Randi Terry, Marlie Terry, and Cooper Pitts.

Pallbearers will be Greg Brewer, Josh Terry, Mark Pitts, Carson Brewer, Ryan Harrison, and Michael Bradford. Honorary pallbearers will be Hayden Addison, Jackson Brewer, Briar Terry, and Cooper Pitts.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Brian Richards, the Davita Dialysis staff on Dr. Hicks Blvd in Florence, Dr. Ojo, Dr. Anjum, and the entire 5th floor staff at the North Alabama Medical Center for their care and kindness.
