Rita Hardyman

Rita LeJeune Hardyman, 67, of Moulton, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025 at her home. Visitation and funeral was on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Lawrence Funeral Home. She was buried at a private cemetery.

Born on October 3, 1957 in Haleyville, AL to the late William and Demaris Pace Jones, Rita earned her Associates in Science Nursing RN from North West Phil Campbell and then her EMT and Paramedic at North West Shoals. She spent her life helping people in the hospital and on ambulance calls. She earned Employee of the Year from multiple hospitals and ambulance services. Rita was a member of First Baptist Church in Red Bay and Victory Baptist Church in Moulton. Other hobbies she enjoyed included working in her yard, growing her flowers and plants, fishing, swimming, boating, camping and water skiing, nature hiking or riding through the forest to see God's wonders.

Survivors include her husband of 11 years, Donald Hardyman; son, Matthew (Casey) Hardyman; sisters, Rosalee (Leland) Free, and Janice (Indiren) Pillay; brothers, Bill (Pam) Hardyman, Stephen (Courtney) Hardyman, and John (Alaina) Hardyman; aunts and uncles, Charles and Betty Williams, and Bobby and Louise Jones; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Hardyman, John Hardyman, Leland Free, Al Williams, Nick Williams, and Alan Graham.

The family extends special thanks to Marisa Weaver, Rena Jones, Michelle Rowe and the rest of the staff at Gentiva Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
