RJ Mears, 70, of Moulton passed away Friday, September 25, 2020 in Panama City, Florida. Visitation will be from 6 till 8 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2020 at Harmony Free Will Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at the church with Bro. Greg Pace and Bro. Oscar Gray officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home assisting.

Born on September 28, 1949 to the late Kermit and Marty Mears, RJ loved fishing, going to yardsales and shopping.

Survivors include his children, Tricia McDaniel (Sonny), RJ Mears, Jr. (Kim), Darlene Nolen (Brandon), Lisa Perry (Tommy), Robbie Mears, Anthony Mitchell (Marianne), Eric Mears (Natasha), Misty Mitchell, Brandon Mitchell (Crystal), Dannon Mitchell, and Christy Chaney (Tim); 37 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Burlis, Henry, Andy, Eugene and James Mears; sisters, Pearl Douglas, and Lena Chaney; and a host of neices, nephews, and extended family.

Pallbearers will be Burlis, Eugene, Henry, Andy, Brandon and Zachary. Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren.

The family extends special thanks to the staff at Gulf Coast Medical Center.
