Rodrick "Rod" Rutherford

Rodrick "Rod" Louis Rutherford, 58, of Landersville, Alabama passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 01, 2024, at Hatton Church of Christ. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Hatton Church of Christ with Brian Rutherford and Chris Miller officiating. Burial will be at Union Hill Cemetery.

Born on July 28, 1965, to Dave and Pauline Pierce Rutherford, Rod shared a birthday with his daughter, Molly. Rod was a life-long farmer, and also worked for the USPS for over 25 years. Rod was a member of Hatton Church of Christ. Rod was a loving husband, father, and brother and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Rachel DeVaney Rutherford; mother, Pauline Pierce Rutherford; three children, Molly Dutton (Justin), Courtney Burrows (Riley), Wesley Rutherford (Jewel); two grandchildren, Abri Rutherford and Wrenley Rutherford; three brothers, David Rutherford (Tina), Greg Rutherford (Martha), Jeron Rutherford (Jenny); brother-in-law, Dwight Masterson; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Rod was preceded in death by his father, Dave Rutherford; and sister, Paulette Masterson.

Pallbearers will be Brock Rutherford, Daniel Rutherford, Thomas Rutherford, Brian Comeens, Adam Peters, Chad Masterson, and Justin Dutton.

The family extends special thanks to Hospice of North Alabama especially nurses Ginny Davis, Jenny Skipworth, and Carl, respiratory therapist.
