Shirley Young

Shirley Faye Young, 83, of Moulton, Alabama passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 3:00 P.M. with Bro. Scotty Letson and Bro. Ronald Manley officiating. Burial will be at Moulton Memory Gardens.

Born on June 16, 1941, to Emmett and Nellie Austin Hollis. Shirley enjoyed cooking for family and tending to her flower garden. She was also a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Shirley retired from Lawrence County Hospital.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, William "Jerry" Young; daughter , Michelle (Tab) Nichols; grandchildren, Will (Kayla) Nichols, Zeke (Victoria) Nichols, and Trey Nichols; one great-grandchild, Emmett Nichols; sister-in-law, Christine Hollis ; one brother, Edward (Betty) Hollis; niece, Dianne Hargett; several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Nellie Hollis; two brothers, Wiley Hollis and Kenneth Hollis; and one sister, Jane Anderson.

Pallbearers will be Will Nichols, Zeke Nichols, Trey Nichols, Donald Anderson, Ricky Anderson, and Kel Hargett.

The family extends special thanks to the nurses and staff at Decatur Morgan Hospital, Dr. Poole, Dr. Mcfarland, Dr. Zeke Nichols, and Dr. Tuckier and staff.
