Stacey Cross

Stacey Shawn Cross, 53, of Moulton, Alabama passed away Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Lawrence Medical Center. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 07, 2024, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Randy Copeland, Austin Dutton, and Jim Fiscus officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Born on April 6, 1971, to John and Sandra Lee Cross, Stacey graduated in 1989 from Lawrence County High School and later from Athens State University. With his parents, Stacey owned and operated John's Bar-B-Que since 1995. He was also a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Stacey will be remembered for his wit, sense of humor, generosity, and overall compassion and love for people. He was an avid supporter of Lawrence County Schools. His life revolved around his Sal and his children.

Survivors include his wife of eight years, Sally Cross; two children, Bentlee Cross and Rhett Cross; parents, John and Sandra Cross; grandmother, Rachel Lee; father and mother-in-law, Don and Drenda Warren; sister-in-law, Ashley (Tony) Coulson; and nephew, Shepard Coulson; and extended family members.

Stacey was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Murphy Lee; paternal grandparents, Hurley and Dorothy Cross.

Pallbearers will be Blaine Shelton, Jim Roberts, Jon Fuller, Robin Wear, Blake Mitchell, Dusty Dutton, Bubba Plaxco, and Ashley Alexander.

The family extends special thanks to the nurses and staff at Lawrence Medical Center and their church family and friends who have helped them through this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Bank Independent in Moulton for the Stacey Cross College Fund for his children.
