Terry Joe Mardis

Terry Joe Mardis, 53, of Hatton passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021 at his home. Visitation will be from 1 till 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 28 at Hatton Church of Christ. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the church with Ben Phillips, Chris Miller, and Austin Mardis officiating. Burial will be in Masterson Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Born on October 24, 1967 in Moulton, Terry Joe was a member of Hatton Church of Christ where he served as a Deacon. He graduated from Hatton High School in 1986 and was a member of the Hatton Masonic Lodge, and the IBEW Local 558. He was also a member of IUPAT from 1991 to 2002.

Survivors include his wife, Brandy Mardis; sons Austin Mardis (Andi) and Dylan Mardis; mother, Ozell Mardis; brother, Tim Mardis (Carol); sister, Sherry Boyles (Tony); and several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Terry Joe was preceded in death by his father, Ferrell Mardis; and brother, Steve Mardis.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Bishop, Roger Peebles, Mike Carpenter, Joey Crumpton, Steven Borden, and Gwen Terry. Honorary pallbearers are Hutson Hatton and Melvin Parker.

The family extends special thanks to Amanda Curry, Bridget Parker, and all the nurses and staff at Amedisys Hospice.
