Wayne Ashley

Troy Wayne Ashley, 70, of Moulton, passed away peacefully Monday, January 20, 2025 at his home. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Bro. Charles Williams officiating. Burial will be at Midway Memorial Garden.

Born on March 16, 1954 in Moulton to the late Troy and Eloise Dover Ashley, Wayne was a long haul truck driver for many years. He enjoyed tinkering with lawnmowers and tractors during his retirement. Wayne could often be found picking on and pestering anyone he cared for around Moulton. He will be sorely missed.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Bonny Ashley; children, Robert (April) Ashley, and Melinda (Dewayne) Thompson; step-children, Jeffery (Becky) Watkins, David (Phyllis) Watkins, and Michael (Tina) Watkins; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, brother, Waymon Ashley; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; step-son, Kevin Ward; brothers, Wendell Ashley, Cecil Ashley, and Charles Ashley.

Pallbearers will be Austin Ashley, Jake Wigginton, Johnie Ayers, Courtney McLemore, Krissy McLemore, Dewayne Thompson, and Matt Romans.

The family extends special thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff of UAB and Clearview Cancer Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or UAB.
