Violet Lee Decatur, 83, of Moulton, Alabama passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Decatur Morgan Hospital Decatur, AL. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The graveside service will be at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Caddo Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home officiating and directing.

Born on August 29, 1940, to Robert and Vera Jones, Violet enjoyed quilting, puzzles, and cooking.

Survivors include her six children, Houston Blackwood (Nita), Cathy King (William), Connie Barnette, Vicky Smith, Robert Blackwood (Tammy), Dianne Ball; step-son, Paul Decatur (Tiffany); a host of several grandchildren, great-grandhildren, and great-great grandchildren ; two sisters, Paulene Speegle and Anita Vankeuren; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Vera Jones; husband, Ricky Decatur; two brothers, Sam Jones and Ronnie Jones.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family extends special thanks to the nurses and staff in the ICU at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
