Virginia Terry

Virginia Ann Terry, 76, of Madison, Alabama passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, to go be home with her loved ones and her dog, Swagger. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The graveside service will be at 1:30 PM on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Centerpoint Methodist Cemetery in Leoma, TN with Brent Barksdale officiating.

Born on April 22, 1948, to James and Georgia Valentine Nix, Virginia loved her family and friends and spending time with her grandchildren. She had many hobbies including: listening to music favorites such as, George Strait and Elvis; decorating for the holidays, especially Christmas, and cooking her famous pecan and coconut pies.

Survivors include her three daughters, Melanie (Dr. William) Reha, of Woodbridge, VA, Georgia "Beth" (Lt. Col. Chris) Howell, of Woodbridge, VA, and Jennifer (Brent) Barksdale, of Madison, AL; ten grandchildren, Alex Rutherford, Adam (Amellia) Rutherford, David Reha, Christine Reha, Blake Howell, Sammy Jo (Megan) Howell, Matthew (Amber) Howell, Tiffany Howell, Paxton Barksdale, Reverie Barksdale; one great-grandchild, Mark Daniel Rutherford; five sisters, Cora Sue Morgan, Frances Gleason, Shalah Terry, Amy Nix, Patsy Richardson; two brothers, William Nix and Anderson Nix; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Terry; parents, James and Georgia Valentine Nix ; three brothers, Jefferson Nix, Marvin Nix, and Kenneth Nix; and two sisters, Patricia Bivens and Ellen Nix.

Pallbearers will be James Wilson, Brandon Pitt, Nathan Pitt, Ferlin Weeks, Frankie Wilson, and Phil Terrell.

Grandsons are Honorary Pallbearers.

The family extends a special thanks to Dr. William Woodall and the nurses and staff at Huntsville Hospital.
